Those who are of the Christian faith remember Jesus’ death on the cross today–the day we call Good Friday. I wrote this poem some years ago after reading the account of Jesus’ passion from Mark 15.
It is linked to Poetry Friday–hosted today by haiku queen herself, Robyn Hood Black at Life on the Deckle Edge.
And that is the party we all attended.

Yes, today is the day to remember that evil party. I always find this day to be peaceful and full of promise, too.

Thanks for this, and it was pretty amazing to see we both shared the same song today! (Thanks for the link to your other blog. I will definitely visit again.)

Thanks Ruth! I was so pleased when I saw that song quoted in your post. (I went on itunes some months back and downloaded several albums of Andrew Peterson’s. His songs were my buffer during some of the nasty hours recovering from my recent surgery. His lyrics are full of wonderful poetry.)
