This is my Summer Shorts poem for July 30th, when the Capture Your 365 (#CY365) photo prompt was Fleetiing.
For those who don’t remember those wonderful Beatles days and the art style that was all the rage, here’s the album cover this photo reminded me of.
This post is linked to Poetry Friday, hosted today by Margaret Simon, who is celebrating a birthday today! So are Linda Mitchell and Julieanne Harmatz. Couldn’t help but post a greeting from the band themselves!
Love your shadowy photo and accompanying poem. I just discovered the Capture your 365 photo prompts — what a fun idea!

Thanks, Molly! Actually I’m finding the photo prompts are wonderful segue ways into a poem each day. They limit one’s choices and in that are freeing. Go figure!

Love what you’re doing, Violet, and that “stance” shown by your shadow. The birthday song is lots of fun to watch!

Thanks, Linda. That birthday song on video sure takes one back to Beatlemania, doesn’t it?

Anyway, yes, limiting to me is so freeing! This looks like fun!

Ha! (Actually, they’ve all proved fleeting, haven’t they? How long ago it all seems.)

And the tree shadow is joyfully raising it’s arm to the day!

The light is wonderful this time of year, strong both in the morning and late in the day before setting. I wish I could capture some of it in my pocket and take it out at different times. And we thought the times were difficult then … Spunky haiku and photo Violet, goes with Paul’s fabulous B-Day song thanks!
