Jump starting the new year

Happy New Year!

I can hardly believe I’m here, blogging this early in the year. But it is a new year with new resolves and one of mine is to blog more frequently in 2024.

I do enjoy this time of year when we cycle back to January, hang up new calendars, start a new planner, look back over the year that was to think about what we want to do more of, less of.

But it’s also a challenge to get my wheels turning again after an indulgent Christmas break with its rich food, family parties, game nights, late movies, etc. So to help me gain traction this January, I have signed up for the 31 Day Strada Easel Challenge.

For the 31 days of January I’ve committed (to myself mostly) to do a daily piece of art from life (not a photo: that’s the challenge rule). If I manage to finish, my name will go in the draw for a beautiful Strada Easel. Wish me luck!

My Challenge art work so far.

Interested in following along?  You can view my daily art creations on my art Instagram account: @vi_nez.daydraws.

I’m also hoping to send out my art and writing newsletter a tad more frequently (bi-monthly, i.e. six times a year instead of two or three). Interested in getting news of my art exhibitions and sales, book sales, etc? You can subscribe here.

I’m curious. What are you doing to shake off holiday lethargy this January?
