March Art

In March the Spring season makes her slow debut in our part of the world. The art I created in March reflects that beautiful season.

Here are some of the Spring-inspired art pieces I created in March.

“Daffodils” – Acrylic on wood panel (7.75 x 7.75 x .25 inches). I loved painting this with Ali Kay (as a project in Ali’s Art school).
“Pink Tulip” – Acrylic on canvas panel (10 x 8 inches). Got to love tulip time! (This was another Ali Kay-inspired piece.)
“Primulas” – Watercolour on paper (12 x 12 inches). A gorgeous display of primulas outside one of our local supermarkets got me started on this one. I filtered the original photo of all-pink blooms to get some interesting colour choices for this watercolour.
“Fawn” – Acrylic on canvas panel (12 x 12 inches. Completed with Ali Kay as part of the February/March series “Forest Friends”).
“Spring Bouquet” – Watercolour on paper (7 x 5 inches). This little guy was inspired by an instructional book created by Shealeen Louise, a very talented artist from New Mexico (I believe). She also offers art instruction – very worth an Instagram follow!
“Black-eyed Susan” – Acrylic on canvas panel (10 x 8 inches). Though not exactly a spring flower, just loved doing this Ali Kay project (on my own – no instructional video on this one).
“Coneflower” – Acrylic on round wood panel (7.75 x 7.75 x .25 inches). Coneflowers are not a spring bloom either, but they sure have that spring-pink vibe. (Inspired by Ali Kay.)
“Purple Iris” – Acrylic on wood panel (7.75 x 7.75 x .25 inches). This is my original interpretation of the beautiful blooms that will soon be popping all over our area.

And that’s it for March!

If this is the Spring season where you live, I’d love to know, what inspires you about Spring?
