Halfway through 2025!

In a few days we’ll be at the halfway point of 2025. How is that even possible? The older I get, the more time seems to pass at warp speed!

June has been full. Church activities and commitments keep us busy and focused. We’ve been enjoying end-of-semester activities like BBQs, potlucks, and volunteer thank-yous along with a family wedding. And Acrylic University continues to provide me with a weekly reference photo and tutorial by Brian Buckrell in the Paint Canada challenge.

Since Canada Day is just a week away, it feels right to share more Canadian scenes. Here are some I’ve painted since the last update.

“Riding Mountain National Park, Manitoba” – Acrylic on thin plywood panel, 11.75 x 11.75 inches.
“Round Bales” – Acrylic on thin plywood panel, 11.75 x 11.75 inches.
“Riding Mountain National Park Sunset” – Acrylic on thin plywood panel, 11.75 x 11.75 inches.
“Farming Country” – Acrylic on thin plywood panel, 11.75 x 11.75 inches
“Muskoka, Ontario” – Acrylic on canvas panel, 12 s 12 x .125 inches.

On another topic, for a few years I posted daily devotions on a blog titled “Other Food Daily Devos.” The blog is still online (https://vnesdoly2.blogspot.com). In the last few months I’ve been reading a meditation daily as part of my quiet time. It’s surprising how my writing from years ago often speaks to me now!

You can explore these daily devotional readings  for yourself if you like. Go to HERE and find “Blog Archive” in the right sidebar. Select the year and month, and a list of linked titles will display. Clicking on any one will take you to the selected post.

You can also get almost a whole month’s worth of posts to display on one page. Just click on the month. Here are the devos for July 2018 (2018 was the last year I posted these) .

Blog posts display with the latest post on top. Scroll down to the bottom and click on “older posts” to view articles prior to July 12. And because these were first published seven years ago, some links no longer work.

And now I wish you a Happy Canada Day!

And a Happy Summer!!
