I just love the post-blossom stage of clematis flowers. To me they look a lot like tousle-headed children.

Looks like we both have clematis’ on our minds, Violet! (My poem was last week) I like this, and I know just what you mean, as we have many hanging here, too!

I don’t remember seeing these on my mother’s clematis, but they are an added bonus, as is your poem, Violet! Those tousled heads on the vine!

They look like sheepdogs to me. 🙂 What charming flowers. Great poem, too. I can see it.

Tousle-headed children is exactly right, Violet. Love the image of them playing on the trellis!

I can see those tow-headed children, and Brenda’s sheepdogs, and maybe even fireworks! Nice to enjoy them in all their stages.

Right on, Tabatha! Sheep dogs for sure (reminds me of the dog character, Mr. Mugs, in a reader I used to use with my Grade 1s) and fireworks, yes I see it! And once they get even farther along and their heads get white and fuzzy, they look like a bunch of senior citizens. 😉
