In a fun prompt at Tweetspeak Poetry, we were challenged to photograph something that cost $.99 and then write a poem about it.
I was surprised, during yesterday’s outing, to discover how few things were priced at $.99. I found one! My photo and poem are above.
If you take the challenge, post your poem on your blog and then be sure to link it on TS Poetry Press’s Facebook wall by June 8th for possible exposure of your poetic efforts on a future TS Poetry post.
You can also subscribe to “Every Day Poems” — a daily email (excluding weekends) with a poem from TS Poetry Press.
Violet, this is wonderful fun!

Delightful! 🙂 I see this is also turning into an effort to find some very simple pleasures 🙂 At 99¢, it’s hard to get too complicated!

This is absolutely BRILLIANT. I keep reading those first four lines over and over…
Wow. (I’m a dark roast person, too!)

Thank you so much, Maureen, L. L. Barkat and Monica. Interesting to see what little things warrant a poem. I like L.L.’s reference to “simple pleasures.’

Just saw this featured in Every Day Poems. I love the word play here–and the metaphorical communion. I much prefer coffee communing to wine, myself.
