A few years ago, when my interest in art revived, I decided to include making art a part of my daily routine. I purchased hard-bound sketch books at Michaels with paper sturdy enough to withstand watercolour—not ideal but they served the purpose. I now have four of those books, chock full of daily art (and in which I often find inspiration for larger paintings).
On looking through my sketch journal the other day, I came across entries for April 2020. That month I made art on the theme of birds. And since April is National Poetry Month, I also included quotes and bits of poetry with my bird art.
Today, “Great Blue Heron” and “Robin’s Listing” from my 2020 sketch journal along with a few doodles.
